New partnership to help entrepreneurial women
A new partnership has been agreed to encourage women's entrepreneurship in developing countries.
Irish Aid, the Government's overseas aid programme, and the International Labour Organisation aim to give the most vulnerable people the means to get themselves out of poverty by providing support and training,
The organisation will also help women find markets and assist associations of women entrepreneurs to become more businesslike.
ILO Director, Gerry Finnegan, said women face a lot of problems in developing countries because of discrimination.
They are often discouraged by their husbands to set up a business and are unable to access resources, such as finance, he added.
