Working hours cut at Co Sligo car parts plant

A car-parts manufacturer in Co Sligo is reducing the working hours of its 250 employees to cope with a downturn in business.

Management at the Bruss plant in Finisklen says the move has been prompted by a drop in car sales around the world.

The number of production days at the plant will decrease by four in November and eight in December, meaning the majority of staff may end up working a three-day week.
