Almost 400 jobs to be created in Cork and Carlow
Almost 400 jobs are expected to be created in Cork and Carlow as a result of significant investments due to be announced later today.
The pharmaceutical firm Merck, Sharpe and Dohme is set to create around 170 jobs at a new vaccine facility in Carlow.
Around 300 people will also be employed during the construction phase of the €200m facility.
Meanwhile, the Marriott hotel chain is set to create around 200 jobs at a new call centre in Cork that will oversee global reservations and customer care services.
More details of the investments will be announced later today by Minister of State for Labour Affairs Billy Kelleher.
