Motorcyclist dies in Louth road accident
A 27-year-old motorcyclist has been killed in a crash in Co Louth today.
The two-vehicle collision between a motorbike and lorry happened at around 3.30pm this afternoon on the Beamore Coopers Hill road in Drogheda.
The man was taken to hospital but died later from his injuries. Gardaí are investigating the incident.
The road remains closed and traffic diversions are in operation.
This brings to three the number of people killed on the country's roads in the past 24 hours.
A 40-year-old man died when he was hit by a car on the N15 between Ballyshannon and Donegal town at around 12.30am this morning.
In the North, a woman in her 30s was killed when she was struck by a car in Co Antrim last night.
