Man in serious condition after Leitrim crash

A man is in a serious condition in hospital following a crash in Co Leitrim.

The man, who is in his 20s, was the driver of a car which collided with an articulated lorry at Carrickavogher, Aughavas. There were no other occupants in the car.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured.

It is believed that the driver of the car is a foreign national who has been living in the local area for the last few years.

Gardaí have closed a section of the R201, between Cloone football pitch and Aughavas, to examine the scene of the crash.
