Fire crew attacked in North

Members of the North's fire service came under attack last night in west Belfast.

Members of the North's fire service came under attack last night in west Belfast.

They were called to the Springhill Avenue area of the city at around 11pm to deal with a car fire.

While they were trying to extinguish the blaze, they were attacked by a group of youths. Bottles and bricks were thrown during the incident.

Two of the fire officers were injured and were treated in hospital.

The PSNI has condemned the attack.
