Galway crash victim named locally

A 26-year-old man who died in a car crash in Galway has been named locally as Paul Higgins from Ruanmore, Ardrahan.

He lost his life after the van he was driving collided with a ditch at Ruanmore at around midnight last night.

Mr Higgins was a carpenter who had been in Australia and came home some months ago but was due to return there next weekend.

He was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash
