Body of man found in County Cavan

A Garda investigation is underway in County Cavan following the discovery of a man's body.

The remains were found on the Carrickmacross Road near Kingscourt, shortly after 2.30pm this afternoon.

The cause of the man's death is not yet known, however Gardaí have said that they are not ruling anything in or out.

A technical examination is being carried out by Gardaí and the road has been closed.

Diversions have been put in place between the Drumcondrath road in Kingscourt and Magheracloone Cross in Carrickmacross.
