GAA request meeting with Minister following revision of substitution rules
The GAA confirmed this evening that a letter has been sent to the Minister for Education and Science, Batt O’Keeffe TD, requesting a meeting to discuss the revision of the rules on substitution cover for teachers in post-primary schools, proposed in last week’s budget.
The Association is concerned that the implementation of the changes will greatly curtail the development of gaelic games in second level schools and will negatively impact on the playing of GAA post-primary school competitions.
