The insurance industry has reported a jump in calls to its anti-fraud hotline following the launch of a new campaign earlier this month.

The insurance industry has reported a jump in calls to its anti-fraud hotline following the launch of a new campaign earlier this month.

The Insurance Industry Federation says the number of calls made to the hotline jumped by 40% in the first week after the campaign.

The majority of the cases related to motor injuries.

Other calls included allegations of exaggerated injuries, staged burglaries and policy holders holding more than one policy for insured items.
