At least two students were arrested at UCD last night during a protest against the proposed re-introduction of third-level fees.

Around 100 students gathered at the college's Clinton Institute as Finance Minister Brian Lenihan arrived to chair a function.

The minister had to enter through a side door after the protestors staged a sit-down blockade outside the building.

They say they were protesting against the possible return of third-level fees and the €600 increase in annual college registration fees announced in last week's Budget.
