Teacher to be sentenced in December for sexual offence

A teacher faces sentence in December at the Central Criminal Court for indecently assaulting a female pupil 26 years ago in a west Dublin school.

Patrick O'Connell (aged 54), with an address at Seacrest, Galway pleaded guilty indecently assaulting the girl on a date between April 1 and June 30, 1982.

Evidence of the crime will be given at the sentence hearing in December by detective garda Annalise Hannigan.
