Fianna Fáil has suffered another resignation in protest at the Government's decision to scrap automatic medical cards for everyone over the age of 70.

The Mayor of Midleton in Co Cork, Billy Buckley, has announced his decision to quit the party, saying he cannot support a Government that would target old-age pensioners in an effort to save money.
