Cowen urged to raise human rights during China trip
Chinese people living in Ireland are urging the Taoiseach to raise the issue of human rights during a trade mission to China this week.
Brian Cowen is due to lead the mission, but has delayed his departure to focus on efforts to prevent an internal Fianna Fáil revolt over the issue of medical cards for over-70s.
Chinese political activists in Ireland say the trip is a perfect opportunity for the Irish Government to raise concerns about human rights.
