Pedestrian dies after being hit by van in Co Kerry

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a van on a road in Co Kerry this morning.

The accident happened at the Blackwater Bridge on the road between Sneem and Kenmare at around 8.30am.

The man, who was his 50s, was hit by a van while walking on the road.

The scene is expected to remain closed for a number of hours while a technical examination is carried out.
