Teen injured in Derry assault

A teenager was in hospital today after suffering head and body injuries in an overnight assault.

Two youths aged 17 have been arrested after the teenager, 19, was assaulted by at least three people in the Foyle Street area of Derry.

The attack took place at about 2.30am this morning and the scene is currently being examined by police.

Officers said there were no further details on the 19-year-old’s condition available at present.

They appealed for anyone with information on the assault to come forward.
