Police in the North have launched a murder inquiry following the death of a man who had been attacked in Belfast.

Police in the North have launched a murder inquiry following the death of a man who had been attacked in Belfast.

It is understood the 30-year-old was stabbed in the chest in the Summerhill area of Twinbrook in the west of the city in the early hours of yesterday morning.

He died in hospital yesterday.

Police have named the victim as Kevin Doyle from Twinbrook.

A post mortem examination will be carried out later today.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.
