Investigations continue after Offaly bank robbery
Investigations are continuing today into a bank robbery in Co Offaly.
It was the second time the AIB branch in Edenderry was raided in a month.
It is believed two men gained access to the bank on JKL Street through an unoccupied adjacent building.
They were armed with handguns and escaped with a significant amount of cash.
Gardaí say no shots were fired and no one was injured. CCTV footage is being examined and house to house inquiries are being carried out.
Gardaí are also looking for a blue Volvo car which was seen in the area immediately after the raid.
Earlier this month the bank was held up by two armed raiders who made off on a motorbike with an undisclosed sum of money.
