Gardaí examine body found at cemetery

Detectives were last night probing the death of a man whose body was discovered in an old cemetery in west Dublin.

Detectives were last night probing the death of a man whose body was discovered in an old cemetery in west Dublin.

The dead man, who is in his 40s, was found in undergrowth off Mill Lane in Palmerstown shortly after 5pm.

It is understood the remains have some injury marks, and officers are investigating if the death was suspicious.

It is not yet known how long the body has been at the scene.

Deputy State Pathologist Michael Curtis is at the cemetery, which has been cordoned off for a forensic examination.

A garda spokesman said officers at Ballyfermot are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body.
