FG anti-Government motion defeated in Dáil

A Fine Gael private member's motion on the state of the economy was defeated in the Dáil by 79 votes to 65 this afternoon.

There were fears the Government would lose the debate after Fine Gael said it would not agree to the traditional pairings arrangement.
