Climate campaigners protest outside Leinster House

Environmental campaigners have mounted a protest outside Leinster House today to coincide with the resumption of the Dáil.

The Stop Climate Chaos organisation has arranged the event to press politicians to deliver on their promise to cut Ireland's greenhouse gas emissions.

The group says Ireland is the sixth worst polluter per head of population in the developed world.

It also says a majority of TDs have signed a petition calling for the Government's target of reducing emissions by 3% annually to be put into law.
