Search continues for remains of Fiona Pender

Gardaí and members of the Defence Forces are continuing to conduct searches in the Slieve Bloom mountains today in the hope of finding the remains of Fiona Pender.

A small number of sites are being examined close to there a wooden cross bearing Ms Pender's name was found last May.

The 25-year-old Offaly woman disappeared more than 12 years ago and is believed to have been murdered.

Gardaí say there have been no developments so far in this week's search.
