Fears of lead contamination in Galway’s water supply

It is feared that Galway's water problems could be back.

It is understood that tests carried out by Galway City Council have detected elements of lead in the supply.

The City Council hasn't confirmed reports of a lead contamination.

However the Mayor of Galway, Padraig Conneely, has called an emergency meeting to discuss the issue.

Mr Conneely said it's vital that immediate action is taken.
