A suspicious object discovered in the Liberties area of Dublin late last night has been described as a hoax.

A suspicious object discovered in the Liberties area of Dublin late last night has been described as a hoax.

The army bomb disposal squad was alerted to the scene at School Street flats off Kevin Street after 11pm.

It is the third time in less than a week that the squad has been tasked to deal with an incident.

The most recent being on Monday night when an explosive device was found on the steps of Shell's headquarters, on Lesson Street.

The device was made safe in a controlled detonation.
