Nurses protest in Cork

Members of the Irish Nurses Organisation are protesting outside Bantry Hospital in Cork today over the introduction of the 37.5-hour working week.

Members of the Irish Nurses Organisation are protesting outside Bantry Hospital in Cork today over the introduction of the 37.5-hour working week.

They say it has still not been implemented in three hospitals in the HSE South, despite being due to come into force from June 1.

A lunchtime protest will be held this afternoon, and the INO has given assurances that direct patient care will not be affected.
