A 22-year-old man has been charged with the gangland murder of 25-year-old Christopher Barry who was shot dead in Byrne's Bookmakers in Killester Avenue, north Dublin, at around 3pm on Saturday.

A 22-year-old man has been charged with the gangland murder of 25-year-old Christopher Barry who was shot dead in Byrne's Bookmakers in Killester Avenue, north Dublin, at around 3pm on Saturday.

A 22-year-old man arrested in Tallaght on Saturday evening had been questioned about the murder for the last three days.

A Garda spokesman said last night: "The 22-year-old man arrested in relation to the fatal shooting of Christopher Barry will appear before Dublin District Court tomorrow morning in relation to the incident."

Another man arrested in connection with the incident was released and a file on the matter will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
