Woman due in court in connection with Limerick knife attack

A 21-year-old woman is expected to appear in court later today charged in connection with a knife attack in Limerick.

The victim, a woman in her 20s, was injured when she was assaulted and robbed on Roches Street.

It happened at around midnight.

It is understood she received a number of slash wounds to her hands when she tried to stop her attackers from stealing her handbag.

Two women were arrested in connection with the attack, one of them was released and the other is expected to appear before Limerick District Court later.
