Pay talks continue in Dublin

Talks to determine whether or not a new national pay deal is to emerge get underway for a sixth consecutive day at Government Buildings today.

An intensive push is expected to be made over the course of the weekend in an effort to secure a deal that takes account of the poor economic climate.

The Government has warned it will only sanction a deal that ties-in with its strategy to get the public finances back under control.
