The Special Criminal Court has remanded in custody five men arrested in connection with the discovery of explosive materials in a Dublin apartment.

The five, who appeared at the court in Dublin’s Green Street amid tight security, are Garret Pigott (aged 25) Philipsburgh Terrace, Dublin 3, Gareth Byrne (aged 26) Park Crescent, Kimmage Dublin 12, Cormac Fitzpatrick (aged 22) Cathedral Walk, Monaghan, Co Monaghan, Jonathan Keogh (aged 23), Upper Sean McDermott Street, Dublin and Terry McConnell (aged 27), Tullymore Gardens, Andersontown, Belfast.
