Pensioner killed by reversing car

An elderly pedestrian was killed when she was struck by a car reversing from a driveway, gardaí said today.

The accident happened in Terenure Road East, south Dublin, at 10.50am yesterday.

The 82-year-old victim was taken to St James’ Hospital but died early this morning.

The female driver of the car, in her late 20s, was not injured.

Gardaí at Terenure are investigating the accident.
