IBF: 35,000 new mortgages issued in second quarter

Irish Banking Federation (IBF) figures show that 35,000 new mortgages were issued in the second quarter of this year.

That is an increase of 23% when compared with the first quarter of 2008, however the first three months of the year is traditionally a quiet time for the housing market.
