Woman critically hurt in Belfast assault

A 23-year-old woman is in a critical condition today after a serious assault in west Belfast.

Police said the incident happened in a lay-by on the Andersonstown Road at around 1.30am this morning.

A 25-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the attack to contact them.
