50 gardaí to raise money in charity cycle

Fifty gardaí are cycling to Paris this week to raise money for charity.

The five-day trip is part of the annual Garda "Tour de Force" cycle, to raise money for the Christina Noble Children's foundation and Re Nua St Raphael's organisation in Celbridge, Co Kildare.

Last year, the event raised more than €100,000 for the Debra Ireland charity.

The cyclists leave Dublin today and will arrive in Paris to end the event at the Eiffel Tower on Friday.
