Shots fired in Wicklow housing estate

Gardaí in Wicklow are investigating a shooting incident last night at a housing estate in Rathnew.

It is understood shots were fired at a downstairs room of a house in The Bank housing estate in the town.

A woman was sitting in the front room of the house at the time.

Nobody was injured in the incident which happened at around 11.30pm yesterday.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination.

Gardaí said no arrests have been made but an investigation has been launched.
