Record set at Fleadh Cheoil

A new record has been set at the 57th Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Tullamore, Co Offaly.

Almost 3,000 musicians from the likes of Japan, Canada, the US and Europe performed non-stop for a little more than 56 minutes.

The performers beat last year's record by more than 100 musicians and by some 10 minutes.

Thousands of people thronged the town for what is believed to be one of the most successful Fleadh events ever.
