East Limerick water supply contaminated by nitrates

Residents in parts of east Limerick are being advised not to use their water for drinking, cooking or food preparation due to pollution concerns.

Homes serviced by the Rockhill public water supply are being urged to only use the water for flushing toilets and internal house plumbing.

Limerick County Council has issued the warning due to a high level of nitrates in the supply.

The scheme serves around 340 people.
