Two people rescued from yacht off Mayo coast
Two people have been rescued this morning from a yacht that got into difficulty near Achill Island in Co Mayo.
Malin Head Coastguard received a call from the French yacht at around 2.30am and the coastguard helicopter from Sligo was sent to the scene along with the Achill RNLI and a nearby naval vessel.
The yacht was subsequently towed to Blacksod, in Co Mayo.
Both people aboard the yacht are understood to be safe and well.
