Six million cigarettes seized in Rosslare
Customs officers at Rosslare Port have seized six million contraband cigarettes that were being passed off as a consignment of fruit and vegetables.
The cigarettes had arrived on a ferry from Cherbourg on Saturday, but are believed to have originated in Spain.
Customs officers say they would have been worth more than €2m if sold at shop value.
Gardaí are investigating the haul, but no arrests have yet been made.
