Flag controversy hits Donegal
A European wide competition has caused controversy in Donegal today, as Letterkenny residents have been objecting to the flying of the British flag in the town.
Organisers have erected the flags from all European countries, including Britain’s Union Jack, as part of the celebrations for the European Entente Florale Competition.
The competition’s adjudication panel is visiting Letterkenny today, as the town has been chosen to represent Ireland in the event.
