Sand sculpting festival underway

The annual Duncannon Sand Sculpting Festival will kick off this evening on the Hook Peninsula in Co Wexford.

Former Irish international soccer manager Brian Kerr gets the event underway at 7.30pm this evening.

Sand Sculpting company Duthain Dealbh will be sculpting this year’s centrepiece following the theme of the Olympics.

In addition to the main event there will be an amateur sand sculpting competition run over the weekend in the south west Wexford village.
