Man re-arrested in connection to murder of pregnant mother
A man was re-arrested today over the murder of a mother-of-four in the North after being released from hospital in the Republic.
Investigating detectives were questioning Stephen Cahoon, aged 36, at a garda station in Co Donegal.
Cahoon, who was first arrested on Tuesday night, was taken to hospital after complaining of feeling ill while being quizzed over the murder of Jean Quigley.
The 30-year-old, who was two months pregnant, was beaten to death in her home in the Shantallow area of Derry on July 26.
Cahoon, who was believed to have been in contact with her in recent weeks, is being held under section four of the Republic’s Criminal Justice Act and can be questioned for 24 hours.
