Gardaí are tracing a truck driver who was involved in a hit-and-run collision with a female cyclist.

Gardaí are today tracing a truck driver who was involved in a hit-and-run collision with a female cyclist.

The woman was seriously injured in the incident on the corner of Patrick Street and Lower Kevin Street in central Dublin at 6.50am yesterday morning.

Gardaí at Kevin Street garda station today appealed for witnesses.

"A female cyclist who was turning right onto Kevin Street Lower from Patrick Street was struck by a white-cab tipper truck who was also turning onto Kevin Street," a Garda Press Office spokesman said.

"The driver did not remain at the scene and gardaí are anxious to trace the truck and its driver."
