Garda investigations continue into two Dublin shootings

Gardaí are refusing to say whether two gangland-style shootings in Dublin are linked.

Two men are dead following the two separate attacks, which took place on the northside of the city less than 12 hours apart.

A 33-year-old man was shot dead outside a house at Kippure Park in Finglas shortly after midnight.

He was shot in the chest. It is believed he also sustained a number of other gunshot wounds.

Gardaí believe a handgun was used in the attack.

His body was removed to James Connolly memorial hospital for a post-mortem.

Detectives from the Finglas and Blanchardstown areas are holding a case conference and are planning to interview witnesses in Kippure Park.

They are not however saying whether the shooting is connected to the gunning down of 34-year-old Anthony Foster in Coolock yesterday afternoon.

He was shot as he left his flat at Cromcastle Court.
