Gardaí release two held in connection with Louth gun seizure

Gardaí in Co Louth have released two of the people arrested this morning following the seizure of a gun near Dundalk.

A pistol, ammunition and a quantity of cash were recovered when two cars were stopped and searched in the Castle-Bellingham and Haggardstown areas yesterday evening.

A 26-year-old woman from Dublin and a 21-year-old man from Dundalk who were detained in connection with the case have been released without charge.

Two other men remain in custody at Dundalk garda station.
