Labour Party leader Eamon Gilmore is urging the Government to reject calls by the Small Firms Association for a cut in the minimum wage.

The group, which is attached to the employers' body IBEC, wants a €1 per hour reduction in the minimum wage to help improve the competitiveness of small companies.
