Man dies after alleged assault in Dublin

A 35-year-old man who was the victim of an alleged assault in Dublin earlier this month has died in hospital.

A 35-year-old man who was the victim of an alleged assault in Dublin earlier this month has died in hospital.

David Rooney of Durrow Road in Crumlin was allegedly assaulted on Clonmacnoise Road, Crumlin on July 2.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out on his body on Monday.

Gardaí have set up an incident room at Sundrive Road Garda Station in Crumlin and are appealing for anyone who may have any information to contact them.
