Around 170 passengers travelling from Ireland to New York escaped injury yesterday when the plane they were travelling in almost crashed with another aircraft.

Around 170 passengers travelling from Ireland to New York escaped injury yesterday when the plane they were travelling in almost crashed with another aircraft.

The Delta Flight 123 from Shannon Airport to JFK came within half a mile of crashing with a regional jet when the pilot aborted his landing in heavy congestion.

<p> Volunteers attending the DMax 7.7 fitness event, in honour of Darragh McCarthy, who tragically passed away last year at just 21 years of age. The sold-out fitness event saw over 300 competitors take on DMax 7.7 featuring seven fitness stations, lasting seven minutes per station with a two minute transition between station. Competitors entered in teams of two and tested their strength, endurance and mental resilience across a series of challenges including rope skipping, ski-erg, medicine ball, assault bike, rowing, burpee box jumps and wall balls.
