Gardaí investigate Oxegen rape allegations

Gardaí are investigating an alleged rape at the Oxegen music festival.

About 80,000 people are expected to attend the event at Punchestown in Co Kildare over the weekend.

Gardaí have said they are following a definite line of inquiry but are not releasing any further details at this time.

Meanwhile, there's a strong Garda presence at Punchestown this afternoon as thousands of music fans make their way to the site.

Head of the Naas Event Management Division Sergeant Tim Bourke said that having campers arrive yesterday has eased traffic problems in the area.
