Body of Andrew Hanlon to be flown home this weekend

The body of Andrew Hanlon, the Irish man shot dead in the US last week, is expected to be flown home to Ireland this weekend.

The 20-year-old, from Dundrum in Dublin, was killed by a police officer responding to reports of a burglary in the state of Oregon on Monday, June 30.

His family is expected to meet the District Attorney handling the case later this week.

Mr Hanlon was apparently shot after banging on doors on a street close to his sister's home in the town of Silverton.

His family say he may have been in a distressed state and may have become lost while trying to make his way to his sister's home.
