51-year-old man shot in knee in Louth

A 51-year-old man is recovering in hospital after he was shot in the knee during an attack in Co Louth early today.

The man was found injured at a house in the Fatima Court area of Dundalk when the emergency services were called to the scene at around 4am.

The initial report suggested the call-out was to a suspected heart attack.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination.
